  PSHE In PSHE over the last two weeks, year 3 have been thinking about risk taking. We have identified the difference between an immediate danger and taking an informed risk. Looking at different scenarios we have discussed what we think the risks might be and we have weighed up whether we think certain risks are worth taking. The children have talked very sensibly about the topic and have made some very sensible hypothetical choices!

  Maths Week 2 This week, we have started to focus on multiplication and division. We have spent a lot of time using the manipulative to show all the facts that we can remember from year two. We have consolidated our knowledge of sharing and grouping. 

 Inspired by the work of Henri Matisse, and taking inspiration from The Bayeux Tapestry, Year 3 have learnt how to "paint with scissors" this week.

 Year 3 started a new topic all about celebrations, with the focus on birthdays. They revised pronouncing numbers 1-12, then practised numbers 13-20. They sang a numbers song, played number bingo and then started a number activity sheet.

This week, Year 3 started a new unit of writing - based on an advert! In History this term, Year 3 are starting to learn about the Bronze Age! This week, the children have started to compare tools, clothes and jewellery across the ages. 

  Maths  Spring 1 - Week 1 The children in year 3 have hit the grou nd running coming back from Christmas break. They have been revising their addition and subtraction skills, using the concrete resources, to show what they have remembered from last term.
