This week was anti-bullying week. Today, Year 3 learned more about bullying and how it can appear online. They had fantastic ideas for what to do if someone is unkind online.
Year 3 revised vegetable activity and practised pronunciation. They then explained Jack and the beanstalk to their partners before watching a French version of the story. They then practised pronouncing the vocabulary from the story and labelled images from the story.
In Year 3 Computing today we continued our journey into coding by exploring the Micro:bit, a mini computer that we can program to achieve lots of different outcomes. We loved exploring the device and creating images do display on it, as well as using it to create a flashing heart animation.
During their lesson, the children watched a clip about the rainforest to identify five different ways humans are damaging the rainforest. First, they identified that deforestation means cutting down the trees, this can be done for many reasons. They then debated why man would cut down trees. Some amazing ideas were discussed but they finally agreed on five: mining, growing crops, feeding cattle, chopping down trees for wood as well as making paper.
