History - what is 'Prehistoric Britain'?

In history this week, we learned all of the vocabulary that we will need to understand Prehistoric Britain.

Most importantly, we learned that prehistory means ‘before written records.’

Why do people choose to live near volcanoes?

 Are people crazy to live near a volcano? Today, the children identified both positive and negative reasons to live near a volcano.  There are many islands in the world that are volcanic islands, where people choose to go on holiday.  Some countries, use the heat from the magma and steam to provide their houses with natural heating and hot water. Furthermore, they mine for minerals, gold, lead and sulphur from the magma,  However, there are some negatives to living near a volcano as when they erupt they can destroy both houses and landscapes as well as mud slides. The ash and volcanic eruptions also stop travel around the world.
